THE CORD is about a grown man (John) still attached to his mother by the umbilical cord. It has never been cut. John is chastised by his mother as she yanks on the cord whenever she wants to get his attention. John is visited by his girlfriend Jennifer, who encourages him to cut himself off. He does and tries to escape with Jennifer, but he cannot make it beyond the limit that the cord would have let him before being cut.
The final scene takes place on the moon where Jennifer now carries her father on her shoulders.

It's an appalling set of images that crack audiences up.
